Project targets:

-Preparation of some samples in the GeO-PbO and TeO-PbO vitreous systems doped with Gd, Eu, Er and Ce ions;

-Obtaining of structural information concerning the above mentioned systems by investigations using X-ray diffraction, IR, UV-Vis, Raman and EPR spectroscopies and magnetic susceptibility measurements.

Human resources:

         The project research team is composed of Prof.dr.Culea Eugen -project director- 2 postdoc researchers and a master degree student:

  2. Dr.Rada Simona
  3. Culea Nicolae Eugen

         During the project the postdoctoral researchers will improve their professional experience in using some structural investigations techniques (i.e., XPS spectroscopy) at the University of Osnabruck, Germany.

Equipments:

         Due to the financial support obtained by the project IDEI 183/2009, during the year 2009, at the Department of Physics of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca some accessories for the EPR spectrometer were acquisitioned.
